What was wrong with Brian Wilson at the Kennedy Center Honors? He appeared to be unable to speak.?

Brian seemed as though he has suffered a stroke, or is suffering from dementia or something. Dianna Ross was trying to help him some, but he was out of it. Anyone know what's wrong?
