How to become a sargent in the Army?

I would like to become a sargent in the Army so I can qualify for Special Forces. I plan to be in the Army from 17-30. How many years will it take for me to become a Sargent? I am going to be in ROTC for all of high school and I am doing PT's, this means I should be a E4 when joining in the Army.
