If you get a mole or birthmark removed from your lip or face will it look better?

or diffrent the reason i am asking this is becuase i have a mole on my lip i think the far left hand corner and its quite strange that i am just finding that out now i seen it before but paid it no mind anyway i know its been there a while becuase i was flipping through some pics of me when i was 7 now im 20 so i know its been there foreever i though it could of been from something i feel so diffrent should i have it removed? and if i do get it removed [which i dont think becuase my grandmother now deceased had a mole on her lip in the center kinda like mine]would the skin look diffrent on my lip?
