Palm centro question?

Ok, i just bout the new palm centro and i was wondering if i used the usb to hook it up to my computer will it cost money or will lit be free. I do not have the data plan. Also when I hook it up to my computer can I put my music from itunes on it and use it as a ringtone? Thanks
