Laptop has blue screen every start up?

Right, I have a Dell Inspiron M1710 XPS or something like that, and irecently installed windows vista service pack 1, so it says, it was bugging me for ages so i installed it last night. Now when i got up this morning, it said it needed a system restart, which most updates do, so i went ahead. During the restart it had numbers and files etc like this: 2345/98357 <--- something like that. Then it crashed on one part of the setup, so i restarted the laptop. It said start normally or or with a repair, ive tried both, multiple times, and both of them just give me the blue screen, it says to start on safe mode by pressing F8, tried that, blue screened again, i cant uninstall the software/hardware without getting on the laptop, so i cant do anything to uninstall it or go to another syustem restore point. Any help on how to fix this is would gladly come to you and give you a hug, also, if you do help me, can you write it in easy ways to understand? xD im not good with computer lingo
