Do u have to pay for email for the palm pixi?

Okay for VERIZON do u have to pay monthly for email for the palm pixi? I have the palm centro and i don't have to(cause i don't use internet or email on it) , but with some phones you have too. So i was wondering if the palm pixi is like that or is it optional like the palm centro?
